Useful information on how to visit the Uffizi for those with some form of disability

The Uffizi Gallery offers an easy access for disabled visitors. By presenting the certificate of disability, you are entitled to free access to the museum, without queuing and without a reservation together with a companion who can enter for free as well.

Inside the museum, the standard route includes numerous flights of stairs to climb and descend, but it will always be possible to alternatively use lifts suitable for wheelchairs of various sizes.

The museum is also equipped with toilets for the disabled. The exit for the disabled is available, but it is necessary to ask the assistance staff present in each room of the museum to be able to use it.

For visitors with visual disabilities, the Uffizi Museum has prepared a series of tactile supports for the most interesting pictorial works as well as the possibility of touching 16 works of classical sculpture in total autonomy.

The route for visitors with visual impairments is marked on a special map that can be requested at the entrance together with disposable gloves.

For those who need easier access, it is possible to access the Uffizi museum from a special access ramp from Via della Ninna, which is located right next to the main courtyard. Receptionists are available at the entrance door. Inside, the elevators allow you to reach the Gallery, which is fully accessible.
