Combined tour itinerary Florence city tour and Uffizi Gallery

This guided tour starts from Piazza della Repubblica, once the center of ancient Florence in Roman times.

We move on foot and reach Piazza del Duomo in a few minutes. Here we stop to admire the complex of Santa Maria del Fiore, then the cathedral, the Baptistery of San Giovanni with its splendid bronze doors, Giotto's bell tower and of course Filippo Brunelleschi's dome. The tour then moves to Piazza della Signoria to admire Palazzo Vecchio, medieval residence and symbol of the Medici government and power, the Palazzo degli Uffizi, seat of the homonymous museum and the Loggia dei Lanzi, a loggia open on the square where splendid sculptures are exhibited from the Renaissance period. The guided tour then proceeds towards the Arno River for a walk on the iconic Ponte Vecchio to return to the Uffizi.

Guided tour inside the Uffizi

The tour begins right in the Piazzale degli Uffizi, an opportunity therefore to admire the majestic Renaissance palace from the outside. Together with your guide you will therefore enter the museum from a privileged entrance, skipping the long queue at the entrance.

Once you pass through security, you will go up to the second floor where the actual tour begins. Here you will admire the paintings that follow one another from room to room and are arranged in chronological order.

From the 13th century salt with Masaccio, Giotto and Cimabue, to continue towards the early Renaissance, with the great masters of the time, Paolo Uccello, Piero della Francesca, Filippo Lippi, up to the masterpieces of Sandro Botticelli and the evocative Tribuna, a room of particular manufacture where numerous portraits of the Medici family are exhibited. The guided tour proceeds quickly towards the room dedicated to the great Leonardo da Vinci and then moves on to the room of Michelangelo and Raphael. But the emotions of this tour don't end there. The side corridors from which you have access to the various exhibition rooms are themselves a marvel to be appreciated, as well as the panorama that can be admired from their windows. Going down to the first floor, there is still a whirlwind succession of masterpieces, from Pontormo to Rosso Fiorentino, from Bronzino to Tiziano to arrive at the rooms dedicated to Caravaggio and the Caravaggeschi.

Once the tour is over, you are free to stay inside the museum until it closes.

The advice is to go up to the top floor, to be delighted by the breathtaking view that can be appreciated from the super panoramic terrace of the café.

Finally, going down to the ground floor you will be able to make various purchases at the bookshop to take home a souvenir of your unforgettable guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery!
