THE TOUR - Useful information on the tour of the Medici Chapels

This tour lasts about 3 hours in total, of which 2 hours and 30 minutes of guided tour. The itinerary can be customized according to the special requests of the visitors. Normally the tour includes a commentary on the church of San Lorenzo from the outside.The tour continues with a detailed exhibition inside the Chapels.

The path is divided into three stages. On the ground floor there is the crypt, where some tombs of famous members of the Medici family are located. The tour continues towards the new sacristy, an architectural work by Michelangelo. 6 famous sculptures by the great artist are exhibited here. The tour ends at the Cappella dei Principi, the grandiose funeral monument that the Medici decided to build to celebrate their power and wealth. In this large and sumptuous space it is possible to admire the decorations of the floors and walls made by the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence. A work of the highest manufacturing and exceptional value for the use of precious materials and for the wise art of the authors.

CANCELLATION POLICY - PRIVATE GUIDED TOURS

From booking to 4 days before the date of the visit, the cancellation penalty applied is equal to 30% of the total tour price.

For those cancellations that are communicated to Italy Travels from 3 days prior to the day of the visit, the cancellation penalty applied is the full amount of the tour (100% of the total price), you will not be entitled to any refund.

The aforementioned cancellation policy will be applied proportionally to partial cancellations of the number of participants in the tour.

Cancellation requests must be sent in writing by email.

Reduced and Free Tickets

Children up to 5 years old join the tour for free. Visitors 6-17 years old join the tour at a reduced rate.
